Starting from September, a group of six to eight adults with learning disabilities are set to be trained up by qualified beauticians at the service over the course of an academic year. Budding salon managers will gain experience of the day-to-day running of a beauty room, as well as washing, styling and straightening hair, all contributing towards a Level 1 qualification in hairdressing.

Hair and beauty entrepreneurs Andrew and Liz Collinge have visited the Lady Lever Art Gallery to catch up with refurbishment work taking place at the Port Sunlight attraction.
The couple are patrons of National Museums Liverpool, and are funding a set of glass doors as part of the £2.8m South End Development Project at the gallery.
The doors will allow visitors to take in the views of Port Sunlight, including the fountain and manicured lawns at the heart of the village.
